Privacy Policy for DroidOS Keyboard Picker

Effective Date: September 18, 2026

1. Overview

DroidOS Keyboard Picker is a local Android utility from KatsuyaMaki LLC that helps users open Android's standard keyboard picker and, on supported Samsung cover screens, optionally use Shizuku elevated access to switch the active keyboard. Users may also choose to purchase and enable the optional Auto Restore feature, which can locally restore their preferred keyboard after a qualifying cover-screen transition. Auto Restore is a one-time Google Play purchase and Automatic Restore is off by default.

2. Information We Collect

DroidOS Keyboard Picker does not collect typed content, advertising data, analytics, telemetry, account information, or other personal content for KatsuyaMaki LLC, and it does not operate a developer backend.

If you use the optional Auto Restore purchase, the app receives Google Play purchase and ownership information needed to unlock and restore that entitlement. Google Play handles payment credentials directly; DroidOS Keyboard Picker does not receive your card or bank details.

The app does not read or store the content you type, passwords, files, photos, contacts, messages, precise location, or other personal content. It does not read clipboard contents; it writes text to the system clipboard only when you explicitly choose to copy this app's own diagnostics.

3. Local App Settings

The app stores limited configuration locally in Android app-private storage, such as your preferred keyboard selection, whether Automatic Restore is enabled, and locally cached Google Play ownership state for the optional Auto Restore purchase. These settings remain on the device and are not transmitted to KatsuyaMaki LLC or any analytics, advertising, or backend service.

Uninstalling the app removes its app-private local state. You can also change the relevant preferences within the app at any time.

4. Shizuku Elevated Access

The optional Samsung cover-screen keyboard switching feature uses user-authorized Shizuku elevated access because the required cover-screen switching behavior is not available to a normal application through standard Android APIs alone.

Elevated access is used locally for temporary system-level input and keyboard-management operations needed to perform manual keyboard switches and, only when you have explicitly enabled Persistence, automatic restoration of your preferred keyboard after qualifying cover-screen transitions. Switching may use bounded local retries when Samsung confirms that no keyboard change occurred. These operations do not collect or transmit what you type or other personal data.

Shizuku authorization is optional and can be revoked at any time in Shizuku. Without Shizuku authorization, the app can still open Android's standard keyboard picker, but the Samsung cover-screen switching feature may be unavailable.

5. Network Access

The Google Play build includes Android network permissions through the Google Play Billing library. Network access is used for the optional Auto Restore purchase, including loading product information, starting or acknowledging a purchase, and reconciling ownership with Google Play.

DroidOS Keyboard Picker has no developer-operated backend and does not send what you type, keyboard content, app settings, analytics, or advertising data to KatsuyaMaki LLC. Payment credentials are handled by Google Play and are not provided to DroidOS Keyboard Picker.

If you choose to open this Privacy Policy, install or open Shizuku, or open a Google Play page, Android may also launch an external browser, Google Play, or another application. Those external applications handle their own network activity and privacy practices.

6. Third-Party Software

If you choose to use the optional elevated switching feature, Shizuku is a separate third-party application and service that you install, start, and authorize independently. Your use of Shizuku is subject to its own terms and privacy practices.

The optional Auto Restore purchase uses Google Play Billing. Google Play handles payment processing under Google's terms and privacy practices. DroidOS Keyboard Picker receives product and purchase-ownership state needed to unlock Auto Restore, but does not receive your card or bank details.

7. Data Security, Retention, and Sharing

DroidOS Keyboard Picker is designed so that keyboard content, app settings, and switching operations are processed locally on the device. KatsuyaMaki LLC does not operate a backend that receives this data. Google Play retains transaction and ownership records under Google's own terms for purchases made through Google Play Billing; the app keeps only local entitlement state needed to enable Auto Restore.

8. Children's Privacy

DroidOS Keyboard Picker is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the app's functionality or data practices change. The current version will remain available at this page with its effective date. If a future version adds developer-operated data collection, analytics, advertising, accounts, materially different networking, or materially different elevated functionality, this policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before release.
